In the middle of April, I will be joining a team of volunteers from various backgrounds on the Salt Trail: Trek and Treat, Crocker Range Mission in Sabah. We will be trekking for five days, from the 21st till the 25th of April, while conducting mobile clinics in 5 villages along the way. Challenging, but just imagine how challenging it must be for those in such remote areas to visit a clinic.
A few years ago, I was on a similar mission to Lusong Laku in Sarawak, also with Mercy Malaysia. We visited a small community of Penans who lived in two long houses where we conducted dental screenings and hygiene lessons(how to wash hands and brush their teeth).
The ‘Portraits of Lusong Laku’ is the only series of portraits I’ve ever photographed and the prints are up for sale. This is the third time I’m selling a print of any of my photographs, the first was with a group exhibition in Germany and the second was at the Context exhibition at the Vallete Fine Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur early last year.
The prints are priced at RM120 each but feel free to donate more if you wish.
I’ve posted the entire series here so it’s easier to browse through and make selections. Just send me a private message or email me your selection at firstname.lastname@example.org and the prints will be delivered to you.
ALL proceeds from the sale will go towards the mission and channeled back to the local community: food, logistics, porters dan sebagainya. Do help me share the post with your friends or anyone you know who might be interested.
Let us do what we can to help those in need.
